a letter from Mumma Stace

To the woman who's found herself here,
I don't know what brought you here today.
Maybe you stumbled across this blog by accident. Maybe someone shared it with you. Or maybe you've reached a point where you know something needs to change, but you can't quite put your finger on what.
Whatever the reason, I'm really glad you're here.

Before we go any further, I should probably introduce myself.

I'm Stace.

I'm a full-time working mum to two incredible boys. I homeschool, work a 7-3 job, and spend my days doing what so many women do.. juggling a hundred different roles while trying not to drop any of them. Between work, family, homeschooling, washing that somehow never ends, trying to keep the house running, and chasing dreams in the little pockets of time left over, life is full. Beautifully full... but full nonetheless.
And if I'm honest, there was a time when I completely lost myself in all of it.
I became so focused on looking after everyone else that I stopped asking myself what I needed. I kept telling myself I'd get around to it one day. One day I'd prioritise my health. One day I'd chase the dreams sitting quietly in the back of my mind. One day I'd feel confident. One day I'd finally feel like me again. But "one day" has a funny way of never arriving.
There wasn't one big moment that changed my life.
No perfect plan.
No magical morning where I suddenly woke up feeling confident, motivated, or like I had everything figured out.
What changed my life was taking messy action.
Showing up before I felt ready.
Trying again after I'd fallen off track.
Choosing progress over perfection.
Choosing to believe that even the smallest step forward still counted.
Those tiny, imperfect decisions slowly changed not just my habits, but the way I saw myself.
And that's something I'll never stop believing: you don't have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to be willing to take the next messy step.
I've had seasons where I felt unstoppable, and seasons where I barely recognised the woman staring back at me. I've questioned my worth, struggled with my confidence, lost sight of who I was outside of being everything to everyone else, and wondered whether I'd ever feel like myself again.
Maybe you know that feeling too.
That's why Like A Bestfriend was born.
Not because I've mastered life.
Not because I have all the answers.
But because I know how powerful it is to have someone remind you of who you are when you've forgotten.

What if we spoke to ourselves the way we speak to our best friends?
Think about it.
When your best friend is struggling, you don't tell her she's failing. You don't remind her of everything she hasn't done. You don't expect perfection.
You encourage her.
You remind her how far she's come.
You believe in her, especially on the days she can't believe in herself.
So why don't we do the same for ourselves?
That's what this space is about.
Not perfection.
Not having your life together.
Not becoming someone completely different.
It's about remembering who you already are underneath the expectations, the overwhelm, the self-doubt, and the pressure to keep everyone else happy.

Believe it or not, the business name came to me while I was sitting on the toilet one day. Inspiration really does strike at the most random times.
I found myself asking one simple question: What do I want this business to do?
The answer was easy.
I wanted it to help women the way a best friend would.
To remind them of their worth when they've forgotten it.
To celebrate the little wins.
To offer honest encouragement.
To be a safe place where women feel seen, supported, and reminded that they don't have to figure everything out alone.
And from that simple thought, Like A Bestfriend was born.

Here you'll find honest conversations, practical tools, gentle encouragement, and reminders that growth doesn't happen overnight. It happens in the everyday moments. In the tiny choices. In deciding, over and over again, that you're worth showing up for too.
If you're looking for someone who's got life completely figured out, I'm probably not your person.
I'm still learning.
I'm still growing.
I'm still choosing myself, one day at a time.
But if you're looking for someone who'll cheer you on, celebrate your wins, sit with you through the hard days, and remind you that you're capable of more than you believe...

Then welcome.
I have a feeling you're going to fit in just fine.
oh, and i’m also a little whimsical at heart.. i love a bit of magical woo woo, and all things universe, energy & alignment.

Love,
Stace
